Service Description

Your captain will teach you about the wide variety of fish found in these powerful waters, and the sustainable fishing methods used on Lough Neagh. Hear of the importance of particular species and locations directly from the fisherman. He’ll talk you through his typical work day, key fishing grounds, the turbulent evolution of the Lough Neagh Fishermen’s Co-Operative Society, and the joys and challenges of Lough Neagh fishing. He’ll share Lough Neagh/ fishing artefacts and photos of his fishing ancestors, (who date back at least seven generations), one of whom was a real local legend. Experience authentic net-making with Gary, who has inherited this traditional craft from his father, grandfather and many others before them.... Have a go yourself! Gary’s passion for these waters, and the real life stories he shares, will make it an unforgettable, treasured experience. This tour is scheduled to run every Monday & Friday.
